Irish Minister visits DU
Ireland’s Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Robert Troy, recently visited the University of Delhi’s North Campus to explore cross-border collaborations. He also met with local officials from Maynooth University and Shannon University of Technology at the Irish Ambassador’s Residence in New Delhi.
Holi at KIIT World School
KIIT World School Gurugram celebrated Holi on the school campus with organic dry colors. Rangoli competitions were held and children were advised to stay away from chemical dyes.
New Pro VC Medical Sciences at GITAM Visakhapatnam
Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane, former Director of Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (Bhubaneswar), has joined as Pro VC Medical Sciences at GITAM, reputed to be Visakhapatnam University. Along with GIMSR Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Gitanjali will also oversee the schools of Nursing, Allied Health and Physiotherapy at the Visakhapatnam Campus.
Public school teacher training
EdIndia Foundation, the strategic CSR arm of Sterlite Power, announced its partnership with the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP), to train over 10,000 teachers in India take advantage of digital tools and integrate context during teaching.
IMA organizes a session on bridging the skills gap
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) recently hosted an event titled “Bridging the Skills Gap in the Finance and Accounting Profession”. Finance and accounting professors and faculty members from four of the top universities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates spoke at the event.
Imarticus launches Pegasus
Imarticus Learning recently launched Pegasus, its flagship learning management system. It is an end-to-end learning companion for Imarticus students and supports both self-paced courses and instructor-led virtual/classroom training. Accessible through the Imarticus Learning mobile app for iOS and Android as well as the website, Pegasus supports lessons and assessment schedules for multiple time zones. Learners can also raise concerns/questions related to training and services while following the course progress and learning path.
Successful internships at the RICS School of Built Environment
The RICS School of Built Environment has announced the successful placement of Batch 2020-22 with major national and international organisations. The process attracted 90 organizations, including 40 new ones. Well-known companies such as CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, Turner & Townsend, Tata Consulting Engineers, ICICI Bank, Knight Frank, Livio, Homelane, Xanadu Realty have offered internships for students.
Professor Shyam Menon joins BMU
BML Munjal University (BMU) has announced the appointment of Professor Shyam Menon as the new Executive Vice President. In his new role, Professor Menon will work closely with faculty and develop and implement a comprehensive strategy. Professor Menon is a renowned pedagogue and has over 40 years of experience as a teacher trainer, educational administrator and university leader.
Amity Institute of Applied Psychology and Allied Sciences, Amity University, Noida, has organized a Virtual International Global Happiness Summit. Speakers included Professor Neil Korbin, Founding President, Academy of Mindfulness Studies, California; Teacher. (Dr.) Rick Levy, Founder of the Levy Centers for Mind-Body Medicine and Human Potential, USA; Dr. Prema N. Mysore, Rishipath International Foundation, India; Dr. Uma Shankar Singh, Assistant Professor, Institute of Management, University of Szczecin, Poland; and Tenzing Longsel, Research Assistant, Namgya Institute of Tibetology, Sikkim, among others.
The Amity Tech Placement Center, at the university, organized a “Microsoft Azure Masterclass”, in association with Ernst & Young (E&Y) for B.Tech Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronic and MCA students.
The university also organized the Amity Youth Festival 2022 for university and school students (grades 9-12) in hybrid mode. Bollywood actor John Abraham was a guest on the Valedictory program.
The university’s Amity Institute of Neuropsychology and Neuroscience (AINN) at the university hosted an invited lecture on “Sleep in Health and Disease”. Renowned sleep medicine expert Dr. Sanjay Manchanda of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was the keynote speaker.
Celebrations at Alpha Arts and Science College
Alpha Arts and Science College, Porur, Chennai recently celebrated its Silver Jubilee with the 22nd Graduation Day. Vikram Kapur, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, gave the keynote address and presented the citations to the 718 graduates. Prizes were distributed to the best outgoing students.
Increase blockchain awareness
Tezos India has announced a strategic collaboration with Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), New Delhi, to form the Tezos IGDTUW Student Chapter to train and educate students on blockchain. The Student Chapter will host a series of workshops, hackathons and mentoring sessions over the coming months.
Bharat EdTech Initiative
The Bharat EdTech initiative has successfully onboarded 117,000 students from disadvantaged families onto their EdTech platform as part of their mission to bridge learning loss. The initiative supports students with the tools needed to make up for the learning losses of the last two years when they return to school. JAIN organizes a virtual convocation
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) held a virtual convocation ceremony for the 2021 batch. Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former Director of ISRO and Chancellor of Central University of Rajasthan and NIIT University, and Dr. Sowmya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization, were the main guests. Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed University), presided.

Edu Brain Academy Hosts Lifestyle Expo
The third and fifth semester students of Edu Brain Academy organized a fashion and lifestyle exhibition at the New Delhi campus and displayed a variety of clothes, bags, handmade jewelry and creative creations made during their practical work.
Saathi class will be used in UP schools
Class Saathi, the AI-powered self-learning app from TagHive Inc. will be rolled out to all upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, after a successful pilot test with schools in Varanasi and Chandauli districts. Class Saathi is a unified platform that connects students, teachers, and administrators to improve student learning outcomes.
TDV students design a digital cafe
Fifth-semester Interaction Design students at The Design Village (TDV) created a digital cafe app from scratch. The students found a problem in food ordering and canteen payments. After extensive research, the team came up with an application simulation and a kickstarter-like presentation video showing the possibilities of an integrated smartphone and web platform.
Five Doubtnut students got top rankings in the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) 2022. Saurav Kumar got the top spot followed by Sanjeet Kumar who came fourth and Shivdayal Kumar (93.6%) who came fifth. The other two students were Priyanka Kumari (seventh) and Amar Prasad (eighth).
Class 12 student Navya Gupta of Pathways School Noida won third place in the national level squash competition organized by the Squash Racket Federation of India (SRFI) in the Under-19 Girls category.
10 year celebration
EuroSchool North Campus, Bangalore, celebrated its successful 10th anniversary with the participation of students and parents in a major event. There was a host of activities, games, magic shows and music and Nita Kurien, creative director of Vonart, and Zonunmawli Saiawi, content consultant at Zensciences, graced the event as judges.
Simplilearn hosted its second online convocation ceremony in partnership with Caltech CTME to congratulate and recognize over 350 learners for completing the graduate program. Dr. Rick Hefner, Program Director – Caltech CTME, graced the event with their presence; Mike Ash, Director – Caltech CTME; and Anand Narayanan, Product Manager at Simplilearn.
IMS Ghaziabad has organized a “reorientation program” for third term students of the 2021-23 PGDM batch. The session was graced by Sandeepta Banerjee, Founder and CEO, RaisetoPi and Meeta Sachdeva, Vice President of Partnerships, RaisetoPi.

API laboratory at BITS-Pilani
Postman announced plans to open an API lab at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani) to promote API literacy among students and aspiring developers. Scheduled to open in December 2022, BITS Pilani’s API Lab will provide a space for students to learn new skills by imagining, innovating and tinkering with new projects.
