Arthur Kar and his L’Art de L’Automobile imprint have teamed up with Porsche to offer a unique capsule collection that combines the style of the specialist car dealership with fashion. The collection also coincides with Kar’s latest project, creating a redesigned Porsche 968 Roadster in what is dubbed his L’ART car.
Scheduled to be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, the clothing collection includes graphic t-shirts that blend the Porshe logo with Kar’s name and an image of the vehicle. It also offers black and white long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts with similar designs, as well as hats, socks and a toy version of the L’ART car to complement its accessories. However, the jewel of this L’Art de L’Automobile x Porsche capsule collection lies in its green jackets inspired by the Formula 1 uniforms of the 90s.
Speaking of the partnership, Kar said Fashion business that Porsche as a brand is intrinsically linked to wealth, so he wanted to focus on his love for the vehicle rather than the dollar amount behind it.
“You can be part of Porsche culture without being rich,” said Kar. “For me, it’s more about passion for cars, not about money.”
The L’Art de L’Automobile x Porsche capsule collection is available at Dover Street Market London in-store and online at the moment and will be on display in the Marais district of the French capital from September 30 to October 3.
