Why limp when you can sprint?
With time comes perspective. Sometimes comfort just doesn’t matter. When a shoe is fabulous, it can be worth a day of misery. Your shoes aren’t as valuable as the experience you missed because you were too busy keeping them clean. Leaders don’t climb the hills of success in shoes of pride because they’re slippery enough to knock a person down. All the expensive cars, clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and their accessories can never make a person very refined and sophisticated. Refinement and sophistication can only come from a very enlightened mind.
It is not possible for a trumpet to work hard to conduct in the skin of the microphone. You can only lead where you can function better. God has not called you to walk in someone else’s place. He wants you to walk in the shoes that fit you, that he made you for. Let your unique identity come out and shine for who you really are. You’re not going to be able to put yourself in another person’s shoes.
Straight paths make your journey comfortable, but your skills are usually developed in the curveballs that are suddenly thrown your way.
Cinderella was made for more than sweeping the floor. But it’s something that was born when she was abused. She showed insurmountable courage and kindness, performed even the smallest and less glorified works, which developed her leadership skills. It doesn’t matter how good your shoes are if you don’t accomplish anything in them. Yes, No, Yes, No? Red, blue, green?
Yes green, no blue, yes red, no red? Yes, No, Yes, No… In out, up down? Choices are based on shelf life, new shoes in a shoe store.
There is no need to follow the crowd. Follow your instincts and go where it takes you. It will be more fulfilling. If the crowd is rushing you into a must-have shoe and the remaining pair is too small for you, don’t feel pressured to choose these. If you are really a size 9, buy that size.
While everyone is hobbling around with sore feet, your picks have to be comfortable or they’re not really your picks at all. Why limp when you can sprint? You should always try to wear a pair of elegant shoes, that is, lead a dignified life. Your self-confidence will be the key to making healthy choices in life. To live a purposeful life, one that helps others in the process, needs something more than a triangle. You must be more, expect more from yourself than from others. You should make choices that reflect hope, not despair. You have to be firm and stand up for something or you will fall for anything and everything. It takes courage to be vulnerable sometimes. Vulnerability one experiences in times of failures, defeats, rejections, manipulations, betrayals, cheating, and such other uncomfortable experiences. Satisfaction and happiness are felt when you are true to yourself. You have to be barefoot or wear fabulous shoes to achieve this certain type of happiness. I don’t know what it’s called…it’s a kind of “fuck it” kind of happiness that lets you know you can take on the world. You are a powerful, ongoing individual and this is your greatest wand.
